Today is one of those days when the world closes in with low hanging clouds and the endless sound of drizzle drips on the porch. I love these days. (Granted they are infrequent and sporadic…) Especially high on my list of pros is the view of mountains on a day like this. You can’t see them fully. Your eyes begin at the base and slowly climb upward until the wall of white swallows [...] If you love beauty, and comedy, and art, and subtitles… you will love Roberto Benigni! There’s something magical about the way he depicts life and love in his movies; something that transcends beyond the frailty of reality, and evokes hope and better times. Interestingly, my two favorite films of his are set in the midst of horrific war and paint the power of family love to overcome extraordinary obstacles. In [...] The past few weeks, if not months, have been chaotic and crazy. It’s times like these that I especially cherish the moments when inspiration and beauty land on my heart’s porch; a song, a spoken word, the glitter of sun careening off snowflakes.
